Next Generation User Experience with Maximo Mobile and Work Centers

Maximo Mobile and Work Centers are major focus areas of IBM. IBM is undergoing a shift from running Work Centers built on Google Polymer to a new platform using React Carbon Design components.

Internally, IBM refers it this as their “Graphite” platform.

Maximo Mobile, IBM’s latest release as part of the Maximo Application Suite, has a planned release tomorrow on February 26 and includes the latest release of the Technician and Inspection Work Centers on the Graphite platform.

Maximo Mobile will be available in both the Apple and Google Play app stores*. This offering improves asset uptime and operational efficiency of the remote workforce with an optimized end user experience.

One of the biggest value drivers for Maximo Mobile is the ability to support connect and disconnect mobile users and offline maps.

Maximo Mobile’s optimized user experience includes:

  • Guided flow with the blue, next steps button
  • Touchpoints – quick access to key pieces of information needed
  • Connected and Disconnected Mode – Works for technician in the field without a wireless connection
  • Improved, intuitive end user interface

*Currently the new Maximo Mobile and Work Centers are available for iOS and Android operating systems, with Windows to come shortly after.
